This is a Kagura mask [Hannya].

This is a mask from the Iwami Kagura style.

Kagura originally began with ancient people dancing to pray for good health and rejuvenation of the soul, and it is said that this ritual of soul-shaking is the origin of various Shinto performing arts.

A mold is made from clay, Japanese paper is carefully layered, a mixture of funori (seaweed glue) is applied, and then painted.

*Persimmon tannin is used to repel insects.

Horse mane is used for the hair of the Kagura mask.
It will naturally settle slightly due to gravity.

This item is a decorative mask.
It can be processed into a wearable mask for an additional fee.
