Antique Point de Rose Bobbin Lace Pearl Embellished Silk Bible/Handkerchief Case

An exquisitely elegant antique French silk Bible holder and handkerchief case.
This is an extremely rare and moving piece, featuring multi-layered, petal-shaped pockets adorned with five Point de Rose roses and floral embroidery, sprinkled with tiny seed pearls.

Fine-textured silk satin is overlaid with a crisp, finely meshed tulle.
Delicate roses, small flowers, and leaves are hand-embroidered, conveying the elegance of a bygone era to the present day.

This handmade needle lace, known as Point de Rose, features hand-embroidered roses with立体的に重ねられた (three-dimensionally layered) petals, possessing a rarity that rivals or surpasses that of jewels, making it an object of envy and admiration.

Tiny pearls, lustrous and radiant like real pearls, adorn the elegant and delicate floral lace.
The exterior is covered with two types of small flowers.

These small flowers are crafted with various stitches, forming pouch-like petals, with subtle differences in tightness, shading, and exquisite detail.

The interior, adorned with bobbin lace garlands, is also remarkably beautiful.
Delicate lace is featured at the top and bottom center.
The edging is made of khaki-gray tulle, meticulously gathered and layered to create a multi-layered effect, with a light, fluttering edge.

The supple, noble silk has a texture reminiscent of rich fresh cream or pale butter, with an antique ivory hue that has been aged by time.

This is likely a handmade lace from Brussels, dating to the 18th or 19th century, made with Point de Gaze Rose on smooth linen. It exhibits a patina of sepia and khaki-gray, with occasional amber-colored craquelure, a testament to its aged beauty.
