Antique Belgian Bruges Lace Daisy Doily - Ivory Beige

An antique from Belgium, circa the 19th century.
This is an authentic and lovely round doily made with bobbin lace from the ancient city of Bruges, featuring an elegant and classical all-mesh design.

The bobbin lace depicts a floral and grassy pattern, with flowers resembling daisies scattered throughout. The varying tightness of the mesh creates a sense of depth, while the gently curled petals, stems, and leaves are expressed with soft, flowing curves. The delicate lace edging alternates between three loops and a single loop.

The color is a classic and natural, slightly dark ivory/light beige, reminiscent of the original plant-dyed linen, evoking a sense of timelessness.

Hand-knitted with medium-fine linen yarn, it is soft, fluffy, and airy, giving a cool impression that brings a sense of relaxation.

The petals and leaf veins feature openwork, and the gaps between the motifs are connected by a delicate mesh bridge, creating a gentle aesthetic. The stitches are not tight, with a half-stitch feel, providing a pleasant coolness.

It is light, smooth, and dry to the touch, yet soft, with a gentle resilience and firmness, giving it a soft and delicate appearance. It appears to be made of natural linen, or possibly a linen and cotton blend.

It is in beautiful condition with no noticeable stains, discoloration, or damage such as scratches.

I believe this is likely the original piece. Even if it has been washed, it does not appear to have been subjected to harsh cleaning such as bleaching, and is likely close to its original state.

I consider it to be in good condition for a handmade antique piece, but please examine the images and forgive any minor imperfections.
