Antique Belgian Duchesse & Princess Lace Long Shawl with Sunflower Flowers and Leaves

Belgian Antique Princess & Duchesse Lace Tippet

A beautiful and delicate lace tie, collar,
long shawl, summer lace scarf,
and wedding veil.

Crafted from finely woven, sheer mesh/tulle
using hand-tatted bobbin lace and tape,
depicting sunflowers and other flowers and leaves,
secured on the reverse with needlework.

The exquisite and elegant presence
is a testament to its age and handmade craftsmanship.

The outer trim is bobbin lace,
delicately ruffled for a charming finish.

The centers of the lace flowers are adorned with
intricately twisted spiral embroidery and raised rings,
resembling stars ✴ and suns ☼.
Two appliqué decorations are also visible.
Picot lace bridges the gaps.

The color is an elegant pearl.
Ivory with hints of pale yellow and skin tones,
a graceful and gentle cream, ecru.

The sheer tulle is smooth and crisp,
allowing light to pass through.
It is lightweight yet soft,
possessing a subtle sheen and luster.
Fine threads form the base,
with medium-fine threads outlining the patterns.
High-quality linen threads were used,
and the thicker threads suggest a silk blend.

Its length allows it to be tied in a crossover,
or loosely draped.
Being extremely sheer, it can also be layered
over other scarves, shawls, or stoles.

as this is a handmade item.

It shows no signs of washing and may be unused.

to highlight the delicate lace and patterns,
