Art Deco Attr Napier Dial-A-Drink Silverplate Cocktail Shaker Recipe Dial
The Unbranded Brand
A chrome-bright Art Deco cocktail shaker with a party trick: the band around its waist rotates, revealing one recipe after another - Side Car, Tom Collins, Whiskey Sour, Alexander, Bacardi, Between the Sheets, Bronx, Clover Club, Dry Martini and more, engraved in deco capitals. The body is a tapered silver-plate cylinder with a stepped domed cap and integral strainer. Attributed to Napier of Meriden, Connecticut, maker of the Dial-A-Drink (also sold as Tells U How) recipe shaker through the 1930s. The engraved band matches the known Napier recipe list closely, drink for drink. No stamp is legible, so the attribution rests on the band and form. Condition: Gently used. The dial rotates smoothly and the cap and strainer seat correctly. Plate wear and light scratching throughout. No dents, splits, or repairs. Please note: silver naturally develops patina and toning over time, so the finish may appear brighter or softer than photographed depending on when it was last polished. - Maker: Attributed to Napier, Meriden CT - Model: Dial-A-Drink / Tells U How - Form: Shaker with rotating recipe dial - Quantity: 1 - Size: approx. 10.5in tall - Marks: None legible - Material: Silver plate - Era: 1930s Mix the Bronx because the shaker told you how.
