This is a German-made tailgut made from gut (sheep intestine) by PIRASTRO.
It is dyed black from the time of sale.
This is one piece, approximately 25cm (±1cm) in length.
It can be used for both violin and viola.
In terms of sound, it is noticeably softer than nylon, Kevlar, or metal, with a particularly pronounced depth in the low frequencies. The high notes also become softer, and the metallic sound is reduced.
