He checked the pockets for executive orders, inspected the lining for election results, then spent several minutes trying to determine whether the vice president was hidden behind the size tag. The investigation stalled after he discovered neither branch of government was present. I needed to be somewhere else. So I went straight to Dorsia. I ordered mesquite-charred feral hog snout resting on fermented parsnip custard with smoked carp skin ribbons, pickled kudzu shoots, roasted acorn gravel, and a glossy reduction made from ingredients that sounded less like food and more like a list of probation violations. The waiter nodded once and said, Excellent choice, sir. I picked this up right before some bozo did. Shipped right — folded by someone who understands tailoring, not someone using a blazer jacket to transport jumper cables, roofing nails, and half a bucket of concrete anchors. Comes from a smoke-free lair.
