It can be used for everyday obi tying, as well as for styles like Ginza-musubi and Kakudashi.
The elastic is sewn in the center (where the obi-makura/sash pillow goes), so there's no need to worry about losing it or replacing it.
We highly recommend trying it, not only for beginners but also for those who find tying difficult!
