SchmidtDigital French Horn Mouthpiece 13.5
SchmidtDigital 13.5
Gold-plated finish
Thank you for looking.
This is a model with a European shank and a shallow cup.
Inner diameter 18.5mm, throat diameter 4.1mm.
Although the Dolce catalog lists it as a U cup, it feels almost like a V cup.
The rim is very smooth and slightly flatter, giving a controllable impression. The weight is quite light, but it has a sense of rigidity and gives the impression of precise machining.
As I felt when I held it, this is a mouthpiece that prioritizes high tones, and its large cup is suitable for fine movements.
The pitch and resonance sweet spot are quite unique and did not match the instrument I have. (The only instrument I could fit it to with a European shank was a Yamaha 87d, but I couldn't quite grasp the pitch sweet spot.)
It might give a different impression when paired with a descant or a 103. It might be suitable for chamber music like Brandenburg, where high tones are continuous.
When I tried blowing a trumpet with an adapter shank, it produced a trumpet-like sound.
No claims, no returns, but I would be happy to share my impressions of its use as an experience, so please feel free to comment.
