At the time, the list price for the H279 Farkas model was around ¥550,000 (equivalent to ¥1,155,000 today), while the H104 Tuckwell model was priced around ¥1,000,000.
[The current list price would be around ¥2,000,000.]
This item is being listed due to reorganization of instrument storage.
This horn was purchased new, used for approximately 4 years, and then passed on to me. I have used it for about 10 months, making the total usage period approximately 5 years.
Overall, the lacquer is in relatively good condition.
There are some minor scratches, lacquer scuffs, and shallow dents in places, but no significant dents that would affect playability.
All rotary levers and slides are also functional, so it is ready to play immediately.
In addition to the clear and rich sound characteristic of nickel silver, the soft tone of the gold brass adds to its appeal. This instrument resonates beautifully across its entire range.
It responds very quickly when played, allowing for expressive performances from pianissimo to fortissimo.
As a precaution, I have confirmed before listing that it can produce sounds over three octaves, from low F and below to high F and above.
This is a rare Tuckwell model that is not often seen on the market. It remains a very popular model even today, so we hope those who are looking for it will consider this opportunity.
Please note that this is a used item. Those seeking a perfect, like-new condition or who are particular about minor details should carefully consider their purchase before proceeding.
We appreciate your understanding and consideration.
