William Adams & Sons Antique Adams Palestine Red Transferware Plate 1830s Staffordshire Pink 9”

US Size:

This is a stunning, genuine 19th-century English transferware plate in the highly collectible Palestine pattern by William Adams & Sons (Staffordshire, England). Produced during the 1830s to 1840s, this early Victorian piece features a beautifully detailed, romanticized Middle Eastern scene with pavilions, minarets, and equestrian figures, framed by an elegant multi-scalloped floral border. The reverse side proudly features the original printed Palestine ribbon cartouche backstamp, authenticating it as a first-edition piece from the initial production run. Dimensions: * Approximately 9 inches in diameter Condition Report: * Structural Integrity: Excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. * Surface & Wear: The plate retains a beautiful glossy glaze finish. There is an original factory glaze skip/stilt mark on the reverse near the backstamp, which is an artifact of 19th-century manufacturing and not damage. * Age Discoloration: Shows light, honest browning/staining under the glaze from age and organic use over its nearly 200-year history. This uniform patina is highly desired by many transferware collectors as proof of authenticity. Please examine photos closely, as they are part of the condition description.
