YAMAHA YOB-431 Oboe with Case
To ensure a smooth transaction for both parties, please review the entire profile section before purchasing.
By purchasing, you agree to all the terms and conditions stated herein.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to long-term home storage.
This is an **unmaintained item**.
After purchase, you will need to **bear the cost yourself** to send it for maintenance.
As this is an amateur listing, we generally recommend purchasing a new instrument from a music store.
No prior repair or adjustment history, with age-related deterioration.
Purchased new from Yamaha and used for six months, then stored in a dark place at home for over ten years. Currently not tested as there is no reed.
In April 2026, consulted with a local repair shop; confirmed no cracks and issues with the fork F seesaw.
An estimate of approximately ¥75,000 was given for overall adjustment, lubrication, complete pad replacement, and fork F seesaw repair. (Additional approx. ¥10,000 if polishing discolored plating).
This estimate may vary depending on the repair shop.
We are listing this as unmaintained, leaving the repair to the buyer based on their intended use and budget.
We have heard that many people who buy used instruments described as fully adjusted end up needing complete pad replacement or repairs due to issues like poor sealing, leading to higher costs at the repair shop.
We recommend a complete pad replacement, but it is best for the buyer to consult with a local repair person in their area, considering their intended use and budget, to decide whether to replace all pads at once, replace them partially, or proceed with repairs in order of concern.
The white circle in the second image shows a mark from a long-term placement of a reed case.
The joint corks on both ends are quite tight from the time of purchase.
No instruction manual included; all items shown in the photos are included.
Due to the high value of this item, please refrain from cancellations after purchase.
The item will be shipped anonymously via:
- Placed in a plastic bag
- Wrapped in cushioning material
- Packed in a cardboard box
By purchasing, you acknowledge and agree to this packaging method and that the item will arrive safely.
To prevent fraudulent returns, we will take **photos and videos** during packaging and shipping to confirm the item is in perfect condition before dispatch.
We may change the shipping method between Rakuraku Mercari Bin and Yuyu Mercari Bin without prior notice.
Please direct all questions, concerns, and requests for additional photos to the comments section before purchasing.
No price reductions will be made.
