This shaper was developed by Norwegian bassoonist Kristian Oma Ronnes. Its tip width is 15.60mm, slightly narrower than the Thunemann.
The shape of the blade sides is nearly straight, but slightly convex near the tip. This differs slightly from the Thunemann, which has a concave curve overall.
This combination appears to provide the stable high-register response and dark, rounded tone required by principal players.
