All Profoto softboxes have a recessed front that allows for the attachment of a softgrid. This softgrid narrows the light spread to 50°. It creates highly directional light and significantly cuts down on light spill, allowing for more precise light shaping.
By limiting the light spread, the softgrid enhances the contrast in your photos, creating more dramatic and atmospheric work. It is effective when you want to avoid illuminating the background or surroundings and reduce unwanted light spill.
