20W Flexible Solar Panel and 10A Charge Controller Set
This is a set of a flexible solar panel and a charge controller.
↓Specifications below:
[Flexible Solar Panel]
Size: 30cm x 60cm
Peak Power: 20W
[Charge Controller]
Voltage: 12/24V (automatic adjustment)
(However, 24V has not been used or tested.)
Rated Current: 10A
Size: L10.3 x W9.5 x H3.8 (cm)
*For lead-acid batteries.
(Likely not compatible with lithium batteries.)
There is no instruction manual, but (referencing the connection type illustration on the controller surface) simply connect the positive (red) and negative (black) wires from the solar panel to the positive and negative terminals of the battery (using thick gauge wiring).
*Insert each wire into the connection port on the lower side of the controller and tighten with a flathead screwdriver to secure.
(Use of an electric screwdriver is recommended.)
*The connection terminal on the far right, labeled Load (with a light bulb icon), can be used to connect a small digital monitor (voltmeter) or similar device (not included this time) to monitor the battery voltage (and its depletion?).
There is no main switch; once connected, charging will begin when the panel is oriented towards the sun.
(An indicator lamp will light up during charging.)
Unlike panels installed on rooftops, the angle can be finely adjusted to face the sunlight, allowing for efficient charging.
I used this set (while bass fishing) on a rental boat, connecting it to the power source for the electric motor (a marine battery like a Voyager) to supplement battery depletion.
(This was limited to sunny fishing days...)
The panel is lightweight, and its size made it easy to bring onto a rental boat without being cumbersome.
(It's an excellent size for charging efficiency.)
*Additionally, by connecting the battery to the panel the day before fishing and placing it in direct sunlight, you can pre-charge the battery.
Velcro has been attached to the back of the controller, allowing it to be attached to battery cases or other surfaces for easy removal.
*Used approximately 5 years and over 20 times, with no functional issues.
We encourage those interested to consider this product.
However, it is recommended for individuals with at least some basic knowledge of solar electrical systems.
