Antique/Vintage 19th Century Bronze Sacred Indian Merwari Horse

This is an vintage, possibly antique, cast bronze horse on fully functional wheels likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The intricate carvings represent a traditional saddle blanket, tassel, and bridle, depicting the sacred Indian Merwari horse. In the Hindu culture, horses symbolize wealth and power and hold divine status in mythology. This Temple Toy was historically used as a devotional donation in Hindu temples and often played with by children visiting the temple. This solid horse weighs approximately 1.12 lbs, and measures approximately 5.5 tall and wide. In excellent condition with normal wear and patina for its age.
