Super Bowl LV was held on February 7, 2021, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
The game featured a matchup between legendary quarterbacks, both old and new.
The Buccaneers, led by 43-year-old QB Tom Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski, who returned to the league to play with Brady, barely made it to the playoffs as the 5th seed with an 11-5 record.
They had lost to the Chiefs during the regular season.
The defending champion Chiefs, with QB Patrick Mahomes, WR Tyreek Hill, and TE Travis Kelce, advanced to the playoffs as the 1st seed.
Despite their overwhelming scoring power, Mahomes entered the Super Bowl with an incomplete recovery from a concussion and a foot injury.
The Buccaneers won the Super Bowl with a score of 31-9.
This marked Tom Brady's 7th Super Bowl victory.
It was also the first time a team playing in their home stadium won the Super Bowl.
