Classic Pier 1 spongeware from Italy, hand‑painted in pastel tones with bright speckled dots over a creamy base. Based on the style, branding, and materials of the Pier 1 spongeware ceramic vase, it most likely dates from the late 1980s to early 1990s. The sponge-painted speckle finish and pastel palette were popular in both the late '80s and early '90s—especially in kitchen and tabletop décor. Pier 1 Imports sourced artisan-style ceramics like this from Italy during that era, favoring rustic Mediterranean looks mixed with bold shapes. Markings/Glaze: The “Made in Italy” stamp and thick, glossy glaze are typical of the production Pier 1 favored between 1985–1995.
