This is a charming mid-century Vintage Budget Balancer Metal File Tin Box, designed and copywrited by Stylecraft of Baltimore (a division of L. Gordon & Son, Inc.). Featuring delightful, kitschy 1950s illustrations, this novelty storage tin was originally intended to help housewives organize receipts, bills, or household savings. The top features an off-white background with a whimsical illustration of a stylized 1950s woman balancing stacks of coins and dollar bills on a balance scale. It proudly displays the title Budget Balancer in a classic retro cursive font. It features a continuous parade of colorful cartoon figures representing typical mid-century household expenses and deliveries. The underside features the manufacturer's authentic branding stamp, reading: “No. 808 Design Copyright by Stylecraft of Baltimore, Division of L. Gordon & Son, Inc., Baltimore 30, MD.
