Vintage Mr. & Mrs. Cow Salt and Pepper Shakers, 1950's Japanese. Collectible

This charming vintage salt and pepper shaker set features an adorable Mr. & Mrs. Cow duo, crafted in Japan during the 1950s for export. Stamped Foreign on the bottom, this marking was commonly used on Japanese ceramics post-WWII, particularly for items destined for Western markets. The set includes two hand-painted ceramic cows—one dressed as a chef, the other in a scarf and apron—both resting on a separate ceramic holder resembling a wooden fence. Their delightful expressions and midcentury styling make them a standout piece for collectors of vintage salt and pepper shakers, Japanese ceramics, or farmhouse décor. All my items are used/vintage pieces that have wear consistent with age. We do our best to showcase each item’s details and features, so please look at the photos closely before purchasing.
