Description
Vintage Marumi Lacquerware Hand Mirror, Made in Occupied Japan (1945-1952). This unique vanity piece features a metal base with a scalloped flower-shaped design and a folding handle. The exterior is beautifully decorated with a traditional Japanese pagoda motif and gold-tone cherry blossoms against a rich red marbled lacquer background. The pagoda includes fine details with small mother-of-pearl or abalone shell inlays. Condition: Good vintage condition with light surface scratches and scuffs consistent with age. Metal and lacquer remain vibrant. Mirror glass shows some age-related wear but is functional. A rare collectible from the post-WWII era.
