Wittnauer
Rare vintage Wittnauer Cine-Twin Zoom 800 automatic 8mm movie camera - a remarkable piece of mid-century American engineering from the famed Longines-Wittnauer watchmaking family. Sold exclusively through jewelry stores, this camera was unlike anything else on the market. Watchmakers since 1832, Longines-Wittnauer launched the Cine-Twin in 1957 - a battery-powered 8mm film camera that converts to a projector in 30 seconds. The Zoom 800 variant (c. 1962) added a zoom lens, automatic exposure metering, and die-cast metal construction. This example retains its original brown vinyl carrying case with brass latch and the original Wittnauer instruction booklet - a significant completeness premium. The projector base (AC-powered) is not included. Camera body, lens, and viewfinder are intact; sold as-is, untested. Condition: Very good cosmetically. Body texture intact, chrome clean, case shows age wear. Not tested; sold for display or parts. - Maker: Wittnauer Camera Company / Longines-Wittnauer - Model: Cine-Twin Zoom 800 - Format: Double-8mm film - Era: c. 1962 - Patent: U.S. 2,912,899 - Origin: Made in USA - Includes: Camera, original case, instruction manual An exceptional display piece or serious film collector's find.
