Vintage Napier Jam Spoon Jadeite Handle Gilt Metal McClurg's Jeweler Box

Pictured is a vintage jam or preserve spoon featuring a jadeite handle and gilt metal bowl, presented in its original jeweler's box from McClurg's Ltd., Diamond Merchants & Watchmakers, Napier, New Zealand.  The handle is set with a long polished green jadeite stone measuring approximately 2 1/2 inches, which tested positive using a Presidium gem tester. The jadeite has attractive natural banding and translucency.  The spoon bowl and stem are finished in gold tone / gilt metal and are not attracted to a magnet.  The original presentation box is included. The interior appears to be lined with cream satin, while the exterior paper covering shows water spotting consistent with age.
