[Details]

Soubusuna Asakane Shrine (そううぶすな あさかねじんじゃ) located in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture.

* Asakane Shrine was founded during the Kouhei era (1058-1065) by inviting Sarutahiko-no-Mikoto from Asa (present-day Matsusaka City) in Ise Province.
Initially named Dōso Shrine, it was enshrined as the god of beginnings and guidance.
When Tadatomi Taira passed away in Kan'chi 3 (1089), he was enshrined together, and the shrine was called Goryōgū. It was renamed Tadatomi Shrine in Meiji 2 and Asakane Shrine in Meiji 22.
The stone Hokke Mandala Kuyo Pagoda is designated as an important cultural property of Fukushima Prefecture, and the stone relief Amida Triad Stupa is designated as an important cultural property of Koriyama City.

Asakane Shrine enshrines the main deity, Sarutahiko-no-Okami, the god of pathfinding.
Because Sarutahiko-no-Okami is a god of guidance, the shrine is affectionately known as Koriyama's Ubusuna-sama (産土様). Ubusuna means to give birth, to tie, earth (うむ?むすぶ?すな).
It is a shrine that supports people's lives, offering blessings for safe childbirth, matchmaking, ground-breaking ceremonies, traffic safety, warding off evil, protection from bad directions, abundant harvests, and business prosperity.
