[Details]
Futarihata Shrine, located in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, was founded in 1026 and will celebrate its 1000th anniversary in 2026.
The enshrined deities are Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto.
As they are the first married couple in Japanese mythology, they are widely known as deities for wishes for good relationships and the healthy growth of children, attracting worshippers from all over the country.
Furthermore, in October 2024, Ebessan (Hiruko-no-Mikoto), the first child of the enshrined deities Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto, was enshrined together from Nishinomiya Shrine in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, and the first Toka Ebisu festival in the Tohoku region is being held.
