This is a Kogin-zashi Goshuincho (temple/shrine stamp book) case, meticulously embroidered stitch by stitch with great care and time.

It can also be used as a multi-purpose pouch.

The outer fabric is made of canvas, with interfacing sandwiched inside to prevent it from losing its shape.

Please be careful not to snag the embroidery with sharp objects, as this may cause threads to come loose.
