The greatest strength of Takada Ware lies in its unique local clay called Aoto, which is extremely fine-grained and robust. This high-quality clay is coated with a pale blue-green glaze, and fine kannyu (crackled pattern) is intentionally and beautifully created, resulting in a solid, dignified style and a sophisticated Japanese modern atmosphere not found in everyday tableware.
Mino Ware is a general term for pottery produced in the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture (Tajimi City, Toki City, Mizunami City, Kani City). Among these, those produced mainly in Takada Town of Tajimi City are called Mino Takada Ware, named after the local place.
The rounded design is very lovely.
I found a crack-like line during the manufacturing process in one spot.
If it is a line that is not completely cracked and is thin on the surface or in a part, it is a kamazu (kiln damage) or a line due to clay shrinkage that was naturally formed in the kiln. It was created during firing.
It was displayed in my home. I am now listing it for sale.
How about displaying it for tea ceremony, flower arrangement, in the tokonoma (alcove), or in the living room?
