Signboard Wooden Plaque Nameplate Wall Hanging
This is a decorative wooden plate from Abashiri Prison (formerly Abashiri Gaol).
It was found while cleaning out my parents' home.
The front features the powerful characters Abashiri Prison, and the back details its history from its establishment in 1890 (Meiji 23) to the revision of regulations in 1968 (Showa 43).
This item is over 30 years old and is believed to be a souvenir.
It has a sense of weight and history unique to wood.
