Karen Silver Vermeil Random Cut Beads 18KGP Anklet

Spring is just around the corner, and it's almost time for anklets!
These are made with random-cut solid beads, a staple of Karen silver, meticulously plated with 18K gold.
Processed in Japan.
Even if the plating wears off over time, the silver underneath will show through, which you can enjoy as part of its aging process.

This is a very delicate type, about 1.3mm thick.

The toggle clasp and end parts are 18KGF (gold-filled) Japanese parts.

The total length from end to end of the clasp is 21cm.
Inner circumference is approximately 20cm.

The toggle clasp (bar and circle parts) is a well-made clasp with a simple structure. Especially with Karen silver, breakage is almost unthinkable, so it can be used for a long time.

Karen silver is:
Silverware traditionally handcrafted by the Karen ethnic minority, a hill tribe in the mountainous regions of Thailand and Myanmar.
It has a high silver content, typically 95% to 97% compared to the 92.5% found in general silver accessories (old pieces can even be 99%). Copper is used as the alloy. This composition is believed to give it a unique warm hue.

Due to the rising price of silver and the weakening yen,
Karen silver prices have increased by 1.5 to more than 2 times in the past 5 years.
