ENGAWA bed
The ENGAWA bed is a bed frame with ample surrounding space.
The extra space around the mattress can be used to place a book you're reading or your glasses, expanding its functionality.
The slatted base under the mattress and the open structure beneath the bed ensure ventilation and are designed to accommodate a floor wiper (effective height 5.5cm). The height can also be increased by attaching the separately sold ENGAWA no ASHI.
The frame uses Hokkaido-produced oak (combination of veneer and solid wood), and the leg components use Hokkaido-produced elm solid wood. It is finished with an oil (Osmo Color) that has been tinted to retain more of the natural wood texture compared to the clear coating on regular oak.

- As natural wood is used, the grain and color may vary slightly from one product to another. Also, as the frame uses several pieces of oak veneer joined together, there may be slight color differences at the joints. This is a characteristic of products made with natural materials and not a defect, so please be aware of this in advance.
- Although designed to allow a floor wiper to fit underneath, some floor wipers may not fit. Please check the dimensions of your floor wiper. (Effective height 5.5cm)
- If left unassembled for several months, the solid wood may warp or deform. We recommend assembling the product within one month of arrival.
Used for about half a year. No noticeable scratches.
All instructions and accessories are included.
Will be shipped disassembled.
I was able to assemble it in a few tens of minutes by myself.
