Hagi Ware Teapot - Maximum Capacity 500cc

Size: Approximately 10.5cm diameter x 8.5cm height

This teapot was used by my family for many years.
There is a chip on the lid (please see photos).
Also, as is characteristic of Hagi ware, the color changes with use, and the interior has some discoloration in places.
The bottom has become blackened from years of use.
The coloring and solid shape are very good, so it can still be used, but I am selling it because I have others.

The charm of Hagi ware lies in its unique transformation over time, where the appearance of the pottery changes. This is called Hagi no Nanabake (Seven Transformations of Hagi), and it deepens in flavor with continued use. Very fine cracks, called kannyu (crazing), form on the surface of the pottery, and as liquids seep into these cracks, the color and texture gradually change.
