Beeswax and Honeycomb Debris
This is an attractant set for Japanese honeybee swarm capture.
Japanese honeybee swarming has begun, with secondary, tertiary, and even grand-swarms occurring. You can expect to attract grand-swarms until around August.
Recommended for those who do not yet have a hive or are waiting for one to be occupied.
Thinly coat the inside ceiling, bottom board, and entrance of your waiting box by melting the beeswax with a gas burner or hairdryer.
After setting up the waiting box,
avoiding the daytime when scout bees are active, you can increase your chances by heating the coated areas with a burner in the early morning or evening to generate scent.
For the bonus honeycomb debris, place a small amount near the entrance, or lightly toast it if ants start to gather.
