This is a very hardy species of orchid. It has endured temperatures as low as -4°C temporarily during winter. With care to avoid snow and freezing, it is possible to overwinter outdoors. It blooms well in some years and not in others. The flowers are modest, but its ease of cultivation makes it recommended for orchid growing beginners.
