【Rare, Unused Long-Term Storage】Azumaya Kaoru Watanabe Porcelain Soba Choko Small SCOPE

I am organizing my stock of Japanese tableware and am listing some of my unused surplus items.

These are small-sized ceramic soba cups from Azuma, designed by Kaoru Watanabe. I purchased them about 15 years ago during a 蔵出し企画 (kura-dashi kikaku - literally cellar release project) on Rakuten SCOPE. I bought more than I needed, so I am selling the unused ones.

When I purchased them about 15 years ago, they were already considered deadstock, so the exact production period is unknown. Mr. Kaoru Watanabe passed away in 2015, making these items very rare to find for sale.

While Mr. Kaoru Watanabe is well-known for items like his kettles and earthenware pots, his soba cups do not seem to be currently available. For those who like SCOPE or CLASKA, this is an item that likely needs little introduction.

The fabric has a faint bluish tint with black specks, giving it a very rustic feel. However, the shaping of the vessel is very sharp and precise, making it an item that combines both utility and beauty. These are thin, light, and easy-to-use soba cups. Please check the images for the weight.

You can use them not only as soba cups but also as free cups for any purpose you like.

Please refer to the images for the size. Since there are no maker's marks, I have included an image of my purchase history on Rakuten at the end for your reference.

Although they are unused, they were purchased as deadstock and have been stored in a private home for a long time. Therefore, we ask that only those who understand and appreciate antique and vintage items consider purchasing them.

The items shown in the images will be carefully packed using recycled materials from my home and shipped via Yu-Packet Plus.
