Himeutsugi (姫空木)

Himeutsugi is a deciduous shrub belonging to the Deutzia genus in the Hydrangeaceae family. Its pearl-like buds and pure white flowers in early green season evoke the arrival of spring, making it a seasonal shrub. It blooms abundantly in a compact form, creating a beautiful full bloom of pure white.

The combination of gentle foliage and clear white, like fresh snow, creates a Western atmosphere rather than the traditional Japanese image.

It is a hardy plant that often blooms in the mountains of Japan and can be left planted without issue. Its height is less than 1 meter, making it compact and easy to handle, and it is popular as a garden tree.

This flowering tree is attractive for the contrast between its pure white or pink flowers and green leaves.
