Kishu Binchotan Charcoal Wood Ash 100g - Water-Sifted and De-ashed
This is wood ash from Kishu Binchotan charcoal.
It's a natural material that can be used as a glaze ingredient in pottery.
It has been water-sieved and de-ashed, so it can be used as is.
Based on testing in oxidation firing (1230°C to 1240°C) in a typical pottery studio, it melted to some extent even when used alone.
If you're working on your own, 100g will allow you to prepare more than 10 test pieces.
The legendary potter, Tokuro Kato, stated in his own writings that he used binchotan charcoal ash when making his yellow Seto glaze.
Note 1: For beginners, it is recommended to apply wood ash glaze thinly at first.
Note 2: The wooden vessel in the image is not included.
Note 3: The product will be weighed in grams and repackaged for shipping.
Note 4: The melting behavior is for reference only. This is because the result depends on the clay body, the combination of ingredients, variations in kiln temperature, and other factors.
