APOLLO STONE
Vintage stoneware manufactured by Sone Pottery (ATELIER SONE JAPAN).

This is a very old item.

Details are unknown.

APOLLO STONE tableware, with its retro and modern atmosphere, is popular and pairs well with Scandinavian furniture and Japanese modern interiors.

The fine crackle pattern seen on the surface of the pottery (glaze layer) is called kannyu (crazing). This does not mean the vessel itself is cracked, but rather a phenomenon that occurs during cooling after firing due to the difference in shrinkage rates between the clay body and the glaze (glassy coating).

?Characteristics and Enjoyment of Kannyu?
◆Appearance and Texture: It is cherished as a characteristic and beauty of pottery.
◆Aging: As you use it, tea stains and food juices will seep into the cracks, and the cracks will become more pronounced, allowing you to enjoy the changing (maturing) appearance.
◆Sealing: If you are concerned about discoloration (stains), you can prevent it to some extent by performing metome (sealing) first, which involves boiling the item in rice water.

*As this is an old item, there may be minor scratches and dirt.
Also, please understand that there may be aspects beyond what we have described, except for noticeable scratches or damage, before making your purchase.

*Please judge the delicate condition from the images.

*If you have any questions, please ask in advance.
