I enjoy woodworking as a hobby. I wondered why I had only made square tables before and hadn't thought of making a chabudai (traditional Japanese low table). So, I decided to make one. When I think of chabudai from my childhood, I recall the iconic chabudai flip from the Showa-era anime Star of the Giants, starring Ikko Hoshi. I made this table with that image in mind. *I'd love to try a dramatic chabudai flip just once!*

This table is a bit small for family use, making it versatile for individuals living alone, as a dedicated table for children, for displaying various items, or even as a flower stand.

The wood used is whitewood, which is affordably sold at home centers. As it is a natural material, there may be knots, stains, and due to it being a handmade hobby item, there might be minor scratches, cracks, dirt, gaps, or insufficient polishing.

The tabletop has a diameter of 550mm. The legs are foldable, and the height from the tabletop to the floor is 255mm in the image. The thickness when the legs are folded is approximately 10cm. To fold the legs, simply pull the black knob lever and fold them inwards. Felt is attached to the legs for stability and to prevent scratches. If the table still wobbles, please reinforce it by adding more felt.

The finish is walnut-colored stain followed by a urethane coating.

Please understand that this is a hobbyist's amateur work. There may be minor scratches, stains, dirt, gaps, putty filling for scratches, insufficient polishing, or imperfect painting. Please do not compare it to high-end furniture found in furniture stores.
