Field soil with tadpole shrimp and fairy shrimp
This is pesticide-free paddy field soil. Tadpole shrimp and clam shrimp are abundant in my paddy field every year. They are very cute creatures and easy to raise, so I decided to list them for sale for animal lovers and children who want to try raising them.
- Species: Tadpole shrimp, Clam shrimp, Others (unknown creatures)
- Body length: Approximately 2-3 cm
- Quantity: In my case, about 4 tadpole shrimp and 10 clam shrimp hatched. This is not guaranteed, so if you're unlucky, they may not hatch. I apologize in advance if they don't hatch, and thank you for your understanding.
(They may not hatch depending on the conditions)
- Lifespan: About 1 month and a little?
- Features: These creatures are said to be living fossils with a unique and charming form! You'll be soothed by the comical movements of the tadpole shrimp and the sight of the clam shrimp swimming like tiny fried shrimp.
- Rearing method: Simply place the product (paddy field soil) in a large tank or similar container, add water (tap water is fine) to a depth of about 15 cm. Then, just leave it in a bright place. Larvae should appear in about a week.
The paddy field soil also contains many microorganisms that purify water, so the water won't get stagnant. Algae will grow, but it seems to serve as food for the tadpole shrimp. They are omnivores, so they will eat anything, including goldfish food. Trying different foods might be fun too.
I had refrained from listing them due to the extreme heat, but after my recent experiments, they hatched, so I've relisted them.
- Water temperature: 22-30℃ or below.
(For reference, the water temperature in the paddy field reached 38℃ during the day, but they were swimming energetically. This is in a natural environment, of course!
They are stronger than I thought (?☉?。?☉?)?!)
- Caution: Other organisms may also hatch (lol).
They can coexist with medaka (Japanese rice fish) etc. However, do not keep them together when they are larvae, as they may be eaten by medaka. They can coexist once they grow larger.
I have sifted out large debris, but since it is paddy field soil, there will be small debris.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for viewing.
Photos 2-5: Photos taken for this listing.
Photo 6: Actual rearing environment.
This is the last bag. The contents are less than previous listings (1.5 liters).
I have reduced the price accordingly as a gesture.
Thank you for viewing.
