[Background of Listing and Product Details]
This was made in the workshop of my grandfather, who ran a woodworking shop in Tsubame-Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture. The workshop specialized in shoji screens but also produced custom-made folding screens, tea cabinets, and Japanese furniture upon customer request.
It was a family business passed down for two generations, but it closed down 10 years ago when my grandfather passed away.
This was made by a craftsman employed at the time.
According to my mother, it was made about 30 years ago.
It has been stored unused, so the condition is good.
There is some wood discoloration due to age.
There are pencil marks from the manufacturing process.
We are also listing other unused shoji screens at the same time, so please take a look.
We would like someone who can utilize this item to take it. Thank you.
