Soba Zaru (Bamboo Strainer) - Handmade - Set of 2
Made with *sasatake* bamboo from Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture. We carefully prepare the material by harvesting, washing, splitting into four pieces, peeling, aligning the width, and thinly processing the bamboo. It then takes about 3 hours to weave. While it may not have the perfection of mass-produced items, it is well-received for its handmade warmth.
When weaving the sieve, we attach four legs. This creates a gap between the sieve and the plate when serving soba or udon, improving drainage.
Although originally made as a soba sieve, it is also popular for storing small items like sweets. I run a soba restaurant twice a week during the day and use this sieve for my *mori soba*. My customers also praise it, and as long as it is dried thoroughly after use, there are no issues with its usability. It is durable and long-lasting.
Size: Approximately 21cm in diameter, 3cm in thickness.
