Antique Retro Stone Mill, Mochi Making Water Basin

Product Name: Stone Mill (with Stand)
Size (approx.): Stone mill with base, Height 63cm x Width 49cm

This is a used item, so please understand that there may be scratches, dirt, stains, and age-related deterioration or signs of use due to the nature of stone and wood. It has been stored indoors.

We are told this is a hand-carved granite stone mill for mochi pounding. It was stored indoors in a storehouse and kept securely in plastic.
It is an item from the Showa era (1970s), but details are unknown.
The base is constructed using traditional joinery techniques (mortise and tenon) without the use of nails.
The entire piece, including the base, is very solidly built, making it a good stone mill. However, as we are not experts, please judge from the images.

For display or mochi pounding!

The base has been washed, but the stone mill has not been washed.
There are what appear to be stains in the photos, but they have not been washed to preserve the texture. They may disappear with polishing.

As this is a used item, please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to dirt, scratches, or stains due to age or the item's age, as shown in the photos.
