When putting tea leaves into a teapot or gaiwan, it's easy to spill them with a tea spoon.
This is even more true with Chinese tea ware, which is generally very small.
Perhaps because of this, Chinese tea ware often comes with tools like this called a chaka (tea leaf holder), so please try using one.
It has a beautiful, streamlined silhouette. While some are made from split bamboo, I find this type sits better, and I use it to weigh tea leaves directly on a scale.
It can also be used for weighing coffee beans.
