Natural Material Shimenawa Wreath ?? Snowy New Year
This natural shimenawa wreath is made with dried flowers and plants harvested from my own garden. It's a white wreath inspired by the snow of the New Year. In ancient times, New Year's snow was considered a very auspicious sign, symbolizing the accumulation of good fortune, purification, and a harbinger of good luck ??
The design is elegant and will complement both Japanese and Western-style homes ?
????????????????????????????????????????
This wreath features Mineasahi, a new rice from Aichi Prefecture harvested in Reiwa 7 (2025), and auspicious Nandina berries, said to turn misfortune into good fortune. Mineasahi is a brand of rice from Aichi Prefecture, often called phantom rice ?
The yellow flower in the center is a dried chrysanthemum and helichrysum (strawflower), which are considered auspicious flowers symbolizing eternal youth and longevity, good fortune, warding off evil, and inviting happiness.
We've also included pine needles, a symbol of the New Year's deity visiting homes, vitality, longevity, and eternity, as well as Hikage no kazura, which has been used in Shinto rituals since ancient times ??
May you have a wonderful New Year! (? ???????)
Enjoy it displayed in your preferred orientation!
Made with fresh materials, you can enjoy watching it dry over time ?
The base, handmade mizuhiki, and other elements are all carefully crafted one by one ?
