This is a cylindrical vase made using Murakami Kibori Tsuishu, a traditional craft from Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture. Technique: It is made using a traditional technique where natural wood (such as magnolia or tochi) is carved and then coated with layers of lacquer. Features: The surface has a matte finish, and the more it is used, the deeper and richer its unique luster becomes. Design: This vase is carved with peonies (or similar flowers), which are considered the flower of wealth and honor.
