Hagoita (Japanese battledore) - Kitsuji (Tsutate) - Showa era - Japanese-style interior - Approx. 62cm
This is an unpainted battledore, left in its natural wood state.
These battledores were prepared as a base for painting using a freehand brush technique called Tsutate.
Tsutate is a Japanese artistic technique where the drawing is completed in one stroke without relying on an underdrawing.
Although ultimately unpainted, the beauty and thickness of the wood remain,
creating a unique presence in this state.
Recommended for Japanese-style interiors, space design,
or for those seeking it as a material.
We hope to pass this on to someone who understands long-term storage items and handcrafted goods.
Size: Approx. 62cm
Although unused, please understand that this is a pre-owned item.
