* The product states that the repellent effect lasts for 50 washes, but I have only washed it a few times. However, since I purchased it several years ago, I am unsure of the remaining effectiveness of the repellent.

I bought this for my child who swells up significantly and whose wounds become raw when bitten by mosquitoes. While this may not be the intended use by the manufacturer, in our household where we absolutely want to avoid bites, we used this clothing with insect repellent spray applied to it. It was incredibly useful for short outings like walks, watering the flower beds, or quick trips to nearby shops where applying insect repellent spray thoroughly to the skin would be a hassle.
Although it's mesh, it can still be hot in mid-summer. By purchasing a larger size that allows for better airflow, there's more distance between the fabric and the skin, making it even more effective at preventing bites.
I am selling this because my child dislikes fluorescent colors and I have since purchased a new one in black.
