Pocket Buddha Statue, Standing Kannon Statue, Bronze, Koun Takamura, Antique
50.16 $
Description
This is a pocket Buddha.
On the back, although difficult to read, I believe it is engraved with Kaigan Eihei Genpo 91st Osho 81st Osho Takamura Koun To (Koun made many such pocket Buddhas in his later years).
Considering it is by the traditional Japanese age reckoning, it is thought to be from 1932.
It means that it was consecrated by Genpo Kitano, the 67th chief priest of Eiheiji Temple, and carved (made) by Takamura Koun.
Please see the photos for details.
