Lantern
This is a Hida souvenir, but it is made in Taiwan.
It is a stored item from my parents' home.
There are many small scratches on the plastic parts, such as the handle, which appear to have occurred during manufacturing.
Please check the photos.
There are no tears in the Japanese paper.
Maximum length including handle is approximately 24.5 cm.
The lantern part is approximately 20 cm.
Sarubobo are traditional dolls from the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture.
Nowadays, there seem to be Sarubobo in various colors, not just red.
Traditional red Sarubobo are said to have meanings of warding off bad luck and evil spirits.
They are cherished as amulets for good relationships, fertility, safe childbirth, and marital harmony.
There is a protrusion in the center of the bottom so that a candle can be placed inside. (Please be very careful when using fire.)
It would also look nice displayed hanging without the handle.
