For cats and very small dogs, we select hard branches with many growth rings and peel the bark to create these toys.

Since we do not hollow out, peel, or shave the wood, we have received many happy comments that the hardness and chewability are different from other products ?

We have made a set of two, one pear wood and one zelkova wood, for those who want to try both.

Please note that these are amateur measurements and may have errors.

Please compare the size with your dog's mouth size and the size of their current stuffed animals or balls.
For dogs in the nipping stage, male Japanese dogs, and active breeds with strong chewing power, a thickness that they can just barely hold will allow them to enjoy it for a long time.

Pear wood branches are less likely to have thorns sticking out, and the wood shavings after chewing crumble like cork, so they are harmless even if swallowed.
The bark of pear branches from Niigata Prefecture has been peeled one by one and dried for two years.

As these are amateur handmade items, they are cut with a chainsaw and the small branches are shaved with a belt sander (file), but please understand that there may be missed spots or cracks/splits due to excessive drying.
Since it is wood, their teeth will not be damaged, and as long as you choose the size carefully, there is no danger of injuring their mouths, but please let them play within your sight.
